We help people stay independent
AssiTech AS develops AssiStep, the walker in the stairs, giving elderly and people with reduced mobility the security and support to climb stairs themselves. Students at NSE started working with the concept of the AssiStep based on a report from InnoMed, describing how many struggle with climbing their stairs. The first funding for the development was secured after ten months of work in october 2012, and the first prototype was finished in december 2012. After user testing several iterations of prototypes, a finished product design was prototyped in the spring of 2014. The company successfully sourced investors through an equity crowdfunding, and the product will be launched in the autumn of 2014. The company currently employs 3 people, including NSE graduates Halvor Wold and Eirik Medbø. AssiTech AS aims to expand internationally the coming years, developing and selling aids to help people stay active and independent.
