Transmitting large datasets from the seabed at remote locations to shore is challenging and costly. At the same time, it is vital to gather more ocean data for environmental research and better understanding of the ocean. Ocean Access is making the ocean more accessible by developing a surveillance system that is able to communicate autonomously subsea-to-surface and that is not dependent on existing subsea infrastructure. By doing this we can facilitate ocean research, help detect oil and gas leakages and assist in prognosis of harmful algae blooms for the aquaculture industry. Our company consist of the founders from NSE, Andreas Mauritzen and Fredrik Lilleøkdal, as well as a competent team of engineering and business students from NTNU.
